Sorry for the Absence

My apologies that things have been quiet around here lately. This is primarily the result of having minimal time to knit in the last few weeks. However, add interesting as it is to see the same no-progress photos week after week, I spent every spare minute last weekend working on this sock.

And I'm just a half inch short of my heel now!
The light is not playing tricks on you. There are two different shades of green being used. I'm still using the same skein of orange for the heel on the second sock. The monogram will be in a different color as well, most likely a shade of red.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

First Sock Syndrome

Everyone knows about "second sock syndrome." You get that first sock off the needles and now that you have finished this glorious creation, you celebrate by not starting the next sock. For a very long time. Or maybe you do start the first sock's mate, but then it sits on your project table, or in your knitting bag, and you just can't get over the hump of working on it.

I think I suffer from the lesser-known, Evil Twin of SSS. First Sock Syndrome. Yes, I did just make that up. I have made the same progress in less than a week on my second sock that I took two weeks to get to on my first of the pair.

I think that, now that I've suffered through the first one and know what the pattern is supposed to look like, the second is going much smoother. I'm waiting to add the monogram until I know how much yarn I have leftover from the green and orange skeins.

That's really all I have to share for this week!
