An Update

Sorry I missed the weekly WIP update. I was out of town visiting family. I did get a good amount of knitting done though.

I'm sorry I've been sluggish about getting the next yarn review up. I promise it will be available this Monday.

I finished the body of the baby cardigan and I started adding a row of lace leaves from the Saroyan pattern I made a couple years ago.

I think it is a perfect addition to the otherwise plain garment.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I Need Some Motivation

As I mentioned last week, I have a lot of fun baby projects on my to do list for a handful of friends. I seem to be having some motivational issues though.
I'm still working on the cardigan from last week but I've divided for the sleeves and I have a bit of the body. Not much though. I'm following the basic structure for the Hoot Cardigan, but instead of owls I'm knitting the entire thing in stockinette. When the cardigan is finished I'm going to pick up the left front border and knit leaves ask the way up.
As far as reading, I'm starting A Tale of Two Cities. I read the first couple pages at work a couple nights ago and then things got busy (there and at home) and I haven't had a chance to open it again.

Baby Knitting

Babies are on the brain. I've got a handful of friends who are expecting by the end of the year so I cast on for a cardigan Tuesday afternoon once my finals were finished.
I'm giving it as an outfit with a really cute top/leggings I found while shopping a couple weeks ago. It is actually for a baby girl. Momma isn't super girly so I picked a color that would match the lime top and a cornflower blue in the floral print leggings. I'm planning on knitting little booties as well. Plus, everyone knows that girls get bombarded with PINK EVERYWHERE. It's nice to have variety.
There's nothing more irritating to me than someone gifting out of season clothes, especially if I like the gift! Hence why I am knitting a cardigan and booties.

That's all for now although I've got a hat and another sweater on my mind for the other munchkins once I find out what everyone is having! Baby knitting is seriously the best. Projects fly off the needles and you can knit all summer long. Amiright?!

FO Friday: Batterslea Hall Sweater

I actually finished this last Friday but I wanted to get good pictures after it was finished blocking. The best I can show you currently is photos still on the blocking board but that will have to do.

I'm really excited about this because I never imagined I would finish it entirely before my semester ended.
It's amazing how fast these sweaters fly off the needles. I have now made two sweaters from the Tundra: Elements pattern book by Maura Kirk and I absolutely love them. Definitely check it out if you are a lover of bulky, cozy sweaters.

Have a great weekend everyone!
(If you were wondering, I was not asked to promote the pattern book, I just really love it!)

FO Friday: Tidal Pool Fingerless Mitts

I finished my second project of the year. And it's May. I feel so unaccomplished, but since I really had to crack down on my work ethic for my homework, something had to give and it wasn't going to be the kids...

Enjoy the photos!

Have a good weekend everyone!
