Kit-Free Easter Egg Dyeing

You will need:
3/4-1c water for each color you want to use
Vinegar
Eggs
Food coloring
A bowl or coffee mug for each color you make. Mugs work best.
Wire cookie rack or something similar to dry wet eggs

1. Hard boil your eggs.

2. Bring dye water to a boil, pour into bowls or mugs. Add your dye:

3. Add 1 Tbsp vinegar to each color. This helps hold the color on the egg.

4. Add eggs to dye. For non mugs, you will need to rotate the egg and spoon dye water over the exposed parts to get an even dye coat.

5. After eggs are as dark as you want, place on rack to dry. Cookie drying racks work great.

Optional: rub the eggs with an oiled paper towel to add a little shine.

  1. Beautiful! We were going to do some today but we didn't have enough food-colouring!
